Yvonne Whiteaker, 82, died Monday, August 7, 2017 in Amarillo, TX. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Patterson, officiating. Burial did follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the care of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, TX. Yvonne Allard was born June 3, 1935 in Shattuck, OK to Bert and Geraldine (Murry) Allard. Yvonne grew up in Harmon, OK and graduated from Arnett High School in 1952. On May 2, 1958, she married Bill Hopson and they moved to Dalhart in 1961, Bill died in 1971. Yvonne married Bob Whiteaker in 1981. Yvonne liked to sew, make quilts out of old jeans, macram, and other crafts and was a member of Central United Methodist Church. She was the Justice of the Peace for Hartley County from 1972 until she retired in 2001. After she retired she enjoyed watching the Dalhart Wolves play football and volunteering for Meals on Wheels. Yvonne is survived by her daughter Jolene Skaggs of Amarillo, TX, three sons: Wes Hopson and Toni of Amarillo, TX, Walter Hopson and Darla of Cheraw, CO, and B.R. Hopson and Misti of Amarillo, TX. as well as 8 grandchildren- Shannon Blake, Shawnda Chitwood, Jaclynn Silva, Shayna Browder, Jordon Skaggs, Wendy Hopson, Michaela Hopson, & Kolton Hopson and 10 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and a brother Junior Allard.
