Yahir " YaYa" Cancino, 15 of Dalhart, gained his Heavenly wings on Friday, September 2, 2022. Yahir will lay in state Monday, September 12, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church. We will celebrate his life at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Dalhart Memorial Stadium with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Yahir Gibran Cancino was born in Dalhart, Tx on August 17, 2007 to Erica Cancino. When Yahir was 10 years old he and his brother Usbaldo became a part of Araceli and Izak Hernandezs family.Yahir was a sophomore at Dalhart High school where he played football, basketball, and ran track. His favorite sport was football, and his goal was to be a full back but he was a tall chubby player so the coaches put him as a center. He worked out and lost weight to reach his goal and became a full back and played defensive end for the junior varsity team. He was number 22 just like his brother. Yahir looked up to his brother Usbaldo so much always wanting to be with him. They would go out driving together or just run errands. He also enjoyed being with his baby sister Kazlynn, either playing with her outside or watching Cocomelon with her.Yahir was such a prankster, always enjoyed making those around him laugh, when he was about to get in trouble he would always yell "its a prank" and would immediately start laughing. He was always sharing the scripture and was born again on October 17, 2021.Yahir is survived by his Mother Erica Cancino, Brother Usbaldo Zarate, Sister Kazlynn Hernandez, Mom Araceli and Dad Izak Hernandez and brother Luis Zarate.
