Willie Frank Brooks, age 72 years, of Dalhart, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, surrounded by loving family.

Willie was born to Bessie and Roosevelt Brooks in Palatka Florida on October 6, 1950.

In his earlier years Willie served as a veteran in the US Army, a foreman at Cargill Meat Solutions and various other jobs.

Willie was a faithful, longtime member of Antioch Baptist church. He contributed his time as a singer in the all-male chorus and as trusty deacon.

"Brooks" as many called him loved lottery tickets, telling TALL TALES, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and cooking. His greatest joy came at spending time with his family and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, one sibling, and one niece, those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 46 years, DeLois Brooks; sons Verdell Brooks of Jacksonville Florida, Regie Brooks and wife Sheleta of Plainview Tx, Damyra Brooks and husband Jessie of Wichita Kansas and Kyann Brooks of Dalhart; one sister, Rosemary Boyd of Jacksonville, Florida; numerous grandchildren, great-children, and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sibling, and one niece.

A Homegoing Celebration will be 2:00 pm, Saturday January 18, 2025, at Antioch Baptist Church, 315 Texas Street, Dalhart where military honors will be presented. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service (beginning at 1:00 pm) on Saturday.
