William "Randy"
Cooley
April 27, 1965 — August 28, 2026
Dalhart, TX
William “Randy” Cooley, 61, of Dalhart, Texas, passed away on August 28, 2026, leaving behind family and friends who loved him deeply. Those who loved him most will cherish countless memories shared with him, that will continue to tell the story of his life. Randy was born on April 27, 1965, in Yuma, Arizona, to Theodore Earl Cooley and Francis Yvonne Melder. Although he later made his home in Dalhart, a part of his heart always remained in Arizona.
Randy worked for Hydro Resources and lived life with a spirit that was entirely his own. No matter the life Randy lived, he had the biggest heart. He was very caring and would give anyone anything. He loved his Dallas Cowboys, Harley’s, the unmistakable sound of rock music, and especially his family. He tried his hardest, his way, to be close to his kids. His second love was his ’66 Chevelle. He enjoyed searching for hidden treasures while hunting antiques and was an animal lover. Iguanas were especially his favorite.
Randy is survived by the true love of his life and former wife, Ranne Cooley; Ranne’s spouse, Jeff Dickson; his sons, Mikael Cooley and Fiancé Kendal of Austin, Texas; Preston Cooley and wife Sarah Cooley of Dalhart, Texas; daughters Jadena Cooley and spouse Chase Brorman of Dalhart, Texas; Stevie and her husband Lee Lockhart of Amarillo, Texas; his beloved friend Scott Duncan; his sisters, Rhonda McAnelly of Sierra Vista, Arizona, and Karadean of Michigan; his nieces, Zen Cooley of Florida; Stephanie McAnelly of Arizona; and his nephews, Forrest McAnelly and Travis Cooley. He also leaves behind his treasured grandchildren, Phoenix and Ellis Brorman, Sebastian and Evelyn Cooley, and Hendrix Lockhart, each of whom brought a special joy to his life.
He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Paige Cooley; his brother, Russell Cooley; his brothers-in-law, Cory Lucero and Eric Shackelford; mother-in-law Marie Shackleford; and his parents Theodore and Francis. He always loved his time in Arizona, and it is only fitting that Randy will return home to the landscape he loved, where his cremated remains will be scattered.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with service details to be announced. Until then, in his memory, please raise your lighters high, turn up the rock music, and headbang to the song that reminds you most of him.
We love you, Dad. Fly high with Paige!
