Wayne Hayes, 83, died Sunday, December 23, 2007 in Dalhart, TexasGraveside Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Memorial Park Cemetery, in Dalhart, TX. Officiating was Wayne's Son-In-Law - Burton McIlroy, Pastor Celebration Fellowship Church in Wichita Falls, TX Wayne Harold Hayes was born August 13, 1924 in Pine Bluff, AR to John H. and Maude (Danford) Hayes. Wayne was raised in Camden, AR. He joined the U.S Army Air Corp. during WWII and was stationed at the Dalhart Air Force Base. He married Betty French on December 15, 1944 and they started their family here in Dalhart. Wayne was a Lineman and Line Foreman for Southwestern Public Service, he retired in 1983. He and Betty were Ombudsman for the Coon Memorial Nursing Home and members of the Peoples Church.Survivors include his wife Betty of Dalhart, TX 2 daughters: Marijo & her husband Ken Hatch of Amarillo, TX and Sherri and her husband Burton McIlroy of Wichita Falls, TX a brother Delbert M Hayes of Pine Bluff, AR and a sister: Christine Monahan of Florida. 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister:
