Wanna Bradford, 91, went to be with her Heavenly Father Saturday, January 18th, in Amarillo, Texas. Services were held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 22,2020 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Dalhart, TX, burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery under the care of Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart, TX. Wanna Dale Lyon was born October 4, 1928 in Avard, OK to Vern and Mildred (Austin) Lyon. She attended school in Avard and graduated from Waynoka High school in 1945 at the age of 16. After graduation Wanna and her sisters moved to Dalhart to work for the telephone office. She met and married Robert Bradford in 1947. Wanna was a waitress until they moved to Conlen, TX where they ran the Cowboy Caf for over 13 yrs. Wanna and Bob moved to Dillon, CO in 1976, where Bob managed a gas station for the truck stop, Wanna worked for the drug store there. They moved back to Dalhart in 1981 where Bob worked for James Ogle at the All-Day Cleaners and Wanna bought the Fabric Mart on Main Street. After Bobs passing in September of 1989, Wanna began working for Virginia Wedel at the Econo Lodge. Wanna was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, and enjoyed the weekly activities of the 55 plus club, she also enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking and her grandchildren who gave her great Joy! Wanna is survived by her son: Randy and his wife Judy Bradford of Dalhart, TX, a daughter Charla and her husband Bernard Humphrey of Montrose, CO a sister Jean Kinikin of Midlothian, TX as well as a Son-in-Law Bill Baber of Texhoma, OK. 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 brothers, 1 sister, a daughter and a grandchild.
