Wanda Dye, 78, died Friday, November 08, 2013 in Amarillo, Texas Funeral services were held at 3:00 pm, Monday, November 11, 2013 at Central United Methodist Church. Officiating was Steve Patterson, Pastor of Central United Methodist Church. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home. Wanda Zoe (Lumley) Dye was born September 17, 1935 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Fred and Lota Otella (Hudson) Lumley. Wanda grew up in the Ft. Worth area. She lived in several places in Colorado and Wyoming before moving back to Texas in 1984 when she married Phillip Dye. Phil Dye died in 1988. Wanda was an accomplished artist, from an early age she painted and created art. As a seamstress and artist she made teddy bears, dolls and other crafts that she sold through her store The Teddy Bear Ranch. She was a member of the Dalhart Garden Club and the Dalhart Area Fine Arts Association. She has had her paintings exhibited at the XIT Museum. She also taught art classes during the summers to elementary age children in Dalhart. Wanda is preceded in death by her husband Phillip Dye. She is survived by four daughters, Debora Hood of Hyattsville, MD, Darlene Johnson and Diana Baquet of Ware Shoals, SC, and Denise Pearson of Gaithersburg, MD. She is also survived by one sister, Fairy Moore of. Fort Worth, TX, six grandchildren, Rebecca Elwell, Jesse Clark, Nick Stalick, Alexander Pearson, Garrett Baquet, Jackie Baquet and great grandson, Kyle Elwell.
