Walter Robert Matthews "Bob", 92, of Dalhart passed away Friday, October 30, 2020. Graveside services for the immediate family will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas. Arrangements by Horizon Funeral Home. Mr. Matthews was born in Dalhart, Tuesday, February 14, 1928 to John and Velma Matthews. Bob married Vivian Curry on June 2, 1951. They were married for 69 years. Bob served in the Army at Fort Leonardwood, MO as an instructor with the rank of Sergeant. Bob was a local building contractor until his retirement in 2005. Bob is survived by his wife Vivian of Dalhart; daughter, Leslie Weede and husband Jackie of Fritch; brother, Don Matthews and wife Wanda of Dalhart; grandson, Matthew Weede and wife Rebecca of Palm Bay, Florida; granddaughter, Brenda Weede of Atlanta, Georgia; great grandchildren: Samantha and Rachel Weede of Palm Bay Florida, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
