Vivian J. Matthews, 93, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021, in Dalhart, Texas. A graveside service was held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021, in Memorial Park Cemetery. Local arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Vivian J. Matthews was born Thursday, November 10, 1927, in El Paso, Tx to John and Jessie Curry. Vivian grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended SMU where she studied music. She married Walter (Bob) Matthews of Dalhart in June 1951. She and her husband were lifelong residents of our city, enjoyed travel, their many dogs, and were married 69 years. Vivian is survived by her daughter Leslie and husband Jackie Weede of Fritch, TX; grandchildren: Brenda Weede of Atlanta, GA and Matthew Weede of Palm Bay, FL; great grandchildren: Rachel and Samantha Weede of Palm Bay, FL.
