Service: Saturday, June 27 at 10am at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Borger, Tx Officiating: Conny Moore of New Life Baptist Church in Borger, TX On a beautiful morning, June 24, Violet Rae Chance(Madding) was welcomed into the open arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. A loving wife, mother and grandmother who leaves a legacy of love that will carry on for many generations. Violet was born in Pike, Tx on July 8, 1926 and spent much of her early years in Oklahoma City, Ok, where she met the love of her life, Vernon Paul Chance, and thats where their love story began. They married in 1948 and started their family. They moved to the Borger and Phillips area, where she worked as an operator at SPS. They retired in 1987 and spent some time traveling and enjoying time with one another. They moved to live with their daughter, Paulette, in Dalhart in 2016. Violet loved to work with her hands and had hobbies such as gardening, flower arrangements, quilting and reading. Taking her girls to buy flowers in the spring always brought her joy and their sweet little dog, Gus. She loved to watch QVC and joked how every day was a treat when the mailman showed up with another surprise! Violet was a vibrant woman who was full of life and always had a beautiful smile! She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy includes a daughter, Paulette Carroll, a granddaughter Lori (Stephen) Davis, a great-granddaughter Haley (Jenaro) Hernandez and a great-great grandson Logan Hernandez. And grandsons Johnny, Wayne, Dean and Casey Carroll and their children. Violets two sisters Tona Herndon and Janell Binion, as well as a sister-in-law Faye Chance Mitchell and brother-in-law Joe Trull. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul Chance, brothers Leon Madding and Junior Madding, sisters Berenice (Jack) Wooden and Audra Trull, as well as brothers-in-law Russell Herndon, Cecil Binion and Thurman Chance. The family would like to thank the kind and generous nursing and medical staff at BSA CCU as well as the amazing ladies at BSA Hospice of the Southwest. Each of you are a true blessing, and we appreciate the compassionate care given to our "Nina" and to each of us as family members. The family suggests donations to Amarillo Medical Center League House, as this is a wonderful place to stay with caring staff and nice accommodations. We would like to thank them for all their support and concern extended to us during our stays there. Medical Center League House 7000 W.
