Vince Gomez, 69, died Friday, March 6, 2015 in Dalhart, TXPrayer Vigil was held at 6:00 PM on Monday, March 9, 2015 at St. Anthonys of Padua Catholic Church, Dalhart, Texas.Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at St. Anthonys of Padua Catholic Church, Dalhart, Texas. Officiating - Monsignor Michael Colwell, Pastor - St. Anthonys of Padua Catholic Church, Dalhart, Texas.Vincente H. Gomez was born April 10, 1945 in Juarez, Mexico to Jesus and Anastacia Gomez he had 5 brothers and 6 sisters.On December 29, 1961 Vince married Cecilia Valdez and they began a long life of 53 years together. Vince and Cecilia had 10 Children Sergio Bettencourt, Nancy Martinez and her husband Nick, Vincent Gomez and his wife Cheryl, Pat Gomez and his wife Manuela, son-in-law Rusty Hammett, Phillip Gomez and his partner Van, Teresa Schoonover and her husband Chuck, Alvin Gomez and his wife Suzzane, Rita Barrow and her husband Coby, Mario Gomez and his wife Destiny. Vince was blessed with 29 grandchildren & 20 great-grandchildren. Vince loved to go hunting, fishing, golfing and loved to listen to music on his patio. He knew no stranger and everyone he met was family. He loved spending time with his family having cookouts, going camping with his family or whatever he could to get everyone together. He taught his kids by example to work, hard and that family is life.He is preceded in death by his parents Jesus and Anastacia Gomez, a daughter- Christina Hammett, a great granddaughter Cecilia St. Clare Gibson, and a brother Jesse Gomez.
