Vernadell Stoneman, 82, passed away on September 30, 2021 in Amarillo, TX. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Lincoln Street Baptist Church with Kurtis Abla officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas. Arrangements under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home. Vernadell Stoneman was born in Olatha, CO on October 22, 1938 to Juanita and Arthur Plunkett. She graduated as Valedictorian from Farley High School in 1956. Vernadell married Cleo Stoneman in Roswell, NM on April 17, 1957 where they stayed until they moved to Clayton, NM in 1971. She was Baptized in 1972 at The Assembly of God with her three oldest children. In 1979 they moved to Dalhart, TX. Vernadell worked at the nursing home and spent many years cleaning businesses and homes for people. She also helped care for the elderly in her later years. Vernadell was a big part of her church family. Vernadell was proceeded in death by her mother and father Juanita and Arthur Plunkett, sister Wanda Aragon, sister Loretta Aragon, daughter Bessie Mangino, and two grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Cleo Stoneman of Dalhart, TX, siblings: A.L. Plunkett of Amarillo, TX, Cynthia Cripe of Kansas City, MO, Yvonne Plunkett of Clayton, NM, Delinda Bogue and Mike Chavez of Albuquerque, NM. Her children Angela Elam of Pampa, TX, Dwayne Stoneman of Amarillo, TX, Beverly Marcom of Panhandle, TX, Lorraine and Jerry Pollock of Dalhart, TX, Isabel Pearson of Dalhart, TX, 13 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
