Verna Sara Ellen Wells, age 95 Died on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 in Dalhart, Texas.Services were held at 2:00 PM Friday, August 26, 2005 at the Peoples Church with burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home- Dalhart, Texas Officiating wil be Jerry Davis - Carthage, Missouri Verna Sara Ellen Hays was born on December 6, 1909 in West Plains, Missouri to Charley & Myrtle (Watson) Hays. They moved to Dalhart in 1925. During WWII Verna worked for Douglas Aircraft in California. Verna spent 30 years in California before moving back to Dalhart in the mid 60s. On May 22, 1968 she married Robert W. Wells and they moved to Colorado Springs, CO. Robert died in October of 1988. In the Spring of 2005 she returned to Dalhart. Verna was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Colorado Springs. CO and attended the Peoples Church in Dalhart. Verna was a Homemaker and excellent Seamstress. Survivors: Brother: Roy A.
