She attended schools in Altus, OK, where she met and married Odis James. They moved to Dalhart in 1967. Velma was a lifetime homemaker. She is survived by her Son: Odis James Jr. and wife Annette of Amarillo, TX, Daughters: Shirley Patrick and husband Mack of Abilene, TX, and Norma Thompson of Dalhart, TX, Brother: Herbert Loudermilk of Maud, Ok, 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.Preceded in death by her parents, husband Odis James, 3 brothers and 2 sisters
