**Following both the visitation and funeral service, the family would like to welcome everyone to Rusty Johnsons home, 920 Central, Hartley, TX. ** Twyla Fern "Red" Johnson, 89 of Hartley, passed away on August 23, 2023. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 2:00PM on Monday, August 28, 2023 in Hartley Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor David Vincent officiating. Interment will follow in Hartley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4:00PM on Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Twyla was born on November 8, 1933 to WF. and Reatha Gustin in Dalhart, TX. Twyla married her soulmate, Floyd Johson, in May of 1950. They shared many happy years together and made unforgettable memories. After 49 years of marriage, Mr. Johnson went home to be with his Lord and Savior. Floyd and Red are reunited once again. Twyla loved being a homemaker and cherished the times she got to babysit her grandchildren. She had a green thumb, with both inside and outside plants, and liked spending time working in her garden. Twyla liked John Wayne and took comfort watching old westerns. She was a member of the Hartley Study Club and attended Hartley First Baptist Church, before leaving Hartley to live with her daughter. She is preceded in death by her husband: Floyd Johnson; two newborn twins; parents: W.F. and Reatha Gustin; one brother: W.F. Gustin Jr.; one: sister Aleta Stuard; and two grandsons: Mike Johnson & Cameron Harrison. Twyla is survived by her children: Lloyd Johnson and wife Lucy, Cecil Johnson and wife Cindy, Wally Johnson and wife Rhonda, Shelia Futch and husband Larry and Rusty Johnson and wife Melissa; 19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
