Willie Truitt Brown, 75, died Wednesday, July 03, 2013 in Amarillo, TX.Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 05, 2013, in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, with Ted Billingsley and Steve Schneider officiated.Willie Truitt Brown was born on October 15, 1932 in Lamesa, Texas, to R.T. and Charlotte (Reeves) Brown. He was raised in Ackerly, Texas and moved with his family to Middlewater, Texas when he was 10 years old. He graduated from Dalhart High School in 1956.He married Glenda Porter on July 24, 1958, in Loving, NM. He farmed the Middlewater area, until he retired and he and Glenda moved to the Amarillo area. He served on the Soil Conservation Board and was recognized for his years of service. He was an active member of the Dalhart Church of Christ, where he served as an elder and deacon for many years. He was currently attending the Church of Christ at Bushland.Truitt was a lifetime member of the NRA and was known for his love of woodworking, and was very talented in cabinet making and upholstering, as well.He is survived by his wife, Glenda, of Bushland, Texas, and his son, Tracy and daughter-in-law Gayle Brown of Dalhart, Texas.
