Tommy Montoya, 82, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at this home in Dalhart, Texas. A Vigil service was held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 7:00 pm in St. Anthonys Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Dalhart, TX. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, TX.Tommy Tom Cat Montoya was a man of many names. To some he was Daddy, Brother, Uncle, Tio, and to others he was Bandito, Partner, Old Geezer, Lee Van Cleef and most of all friend. Tommy was born in Dalhart, TX on April 30, 1934 to Antonio Montoya and Belle Bargas. He was known as a masonry, painter, and cement finisher. He was loved by all who knew him. Tommy had many friends of all ages. He was always helping those who were in need. He loved spending time in his yard with his dog Pepe and around town visiting his friends and family. Tommy had many lifelong friends who he shared so many moments with, Frank Montoya, John "Grady" Griego, Jim Hammett, Jim Bob Matthews and his sons Joebe and Jacky. Roy Suddarth, and Marshall "Marcelino" Zambrano. He is survived by his daughter Beatrice Baca and her children Samantha and Elizabeth, daughter Angela "Mi India" Montoya and her sons Jay and Jared "that's my boy" Martinez. , his son Tommy Montoya Jr. and his daughter Katherine. One great grand-daughter Aliyah Baca. He had many nieces and nephews who loved him so. Carla "Carlita " Marquez, Rene "did you wash your face" Fluhman, Jason "Partner" Marquez," Desa "Girl" Wadsworth, Scottie Dallas(God Son), Angela "walk around the table" Lurz, Anna Dallas, Tim Dallas, George Martinez, Debbie "Doo" Teafatiller, Marie Dallas, Lawrence Valdez, Chris and Rick Valdez, Victor Montoya Jr., Angelo Montoya. Megan Waldrip, Morgan Vasquez, Tristan Vasquez, Molly Fluhman, Gabe Marquez, Abel Marquez, Kress " Partner" Provine, Kenzie "Conejita" Provine and Kaemon "lil Partner" Wadsworth, Devin and William Wheeler, Davian and Logan Lurz. He is also survived by his brother Victor Montoya and wife Lorraine and his sisters Pauline Valdez and Mary Arlene Montoya all of Dalhart. He is preceded in death by his father Antonio Montoya, mother Belle Bargas Montoya, sister Dorothy Martinez, and great nephew Jonah Ky Provine.
