Tommy Heard, 67, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 in Amarillo, Texas. Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at First Baptist Church, under the care of Horizon Funeral Home Cremation, Memorial and Funeral Service. William Thomas Heard was born July 3, 1947 in Amarillo, TX to William H. and Alma (Jacks) Heard. Tommy was raised in Dalhart and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1965. He was a US Army Veteran.On August 25, 1973 he married Marka Coble in Platoro, CO. Tommy owned and operated Dalhart Machine Shop for many years. He was a Paramedic who devoted over 14 years of voluntary service to the EMS system in Dalhart and had served 2 years as President of the Panhandle Medical Emergency Services Board. Tom was a member of the First Baptist Church and a past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge BPOE 2390 and a Mason. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.Survivors include his wife Marka Heard of Dalhart, TX cousins - Wayne and Loretta Sheldon of Pritchett, CO, their children Laura, Ronnie, Kay, Anna and Billy and their families, his mother and father-in law Martha and Clarence Coble of Amarillo, TX, a brother in law: Matt Coble of Amarillo, sisters-in law: Renee Coble of Amarillo, TX and Deena and her husband Larry Hyer of Savannah, GA. 3 nieces, 2 nephews, 5 great nieces and 1 great nephew.
