Thomas "Tom" Arden Stenson, 73, began his heavenly, eternal life on March 11, 2023. He was born May 14th, 1949, in Clarkfield, Minnesota, the son of Arden R. and Evelyn M. (Kopasek) Stenson. Tom graduated from Clarkfield High School, Class of 1967. After beginning a career in agriculture on his familys farm, he married his high school sweetheart, Sandra "Sandy" Petersen. They celebrated 53 years of marriage in June of 2022. Tom was a loving and gentle man with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed old cars and trucks and all things farming. In addition to farming in the Texas panhandle area, Tom was employed by Burkhalter Chevrolet, Swift, and he worked at Frontier Fuel Company in Dalhart, Texas, for over 25 years. He loved and served his God, family, and friends well and was greatly loved in return. He previously served as an Elder of Peoples Chapel and relished his longtime position as an Usher for Peoples Church. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Jerry Stenson, and his Father-in-law, John Wesley "Wes" Petersen. Surviving in addition to his wife, Sandy, are his two daughters, Bethany Scroggins and her husband, Kevin, of Dumas, Texas, Sara Heiser and her husband, Travis, of Dalhart; five grandchildren, Zachary Stenson, Taylor Heiser, Braely Heiser, Kaitlyn Sanderson, and Kason Scroggins; two greatgrandchildren, Daxton and Haizlee Sanderson; three brothers, Mark Stenson and his wife, Jolene, of Mesa, Arizona, Mike Stenson and his husband, Charles Coatney, of Omaha, Nebraska, Steve Stenson and his wife Sherol, of Montevideo, Minnesota; his mother-in-law, Joan Petersen, of Dalhart; and one brother-in-law, Russell "Russ" Petersen, and his wife, Betty, of Dalhart; many nieces, nephews, and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 24th at Peoples Church in Dalhart with officiants, Pastor Jeremie Hamby of Peoples Church and Pastor Jerry Davis of Faith Life Worship Center, Carthage, Missouri.
