Terry Lynn Turner, 79, passed away on March 21, 2020 in the Coon Memorial Nursing Home in Dalhart, TX. A memorial service will be held this summer where his ashes will be spread on a ranch near Tucumcari, NM. Terry was born August 25, 1940 to Margaret Thetford and R.B. Turner in Jacksboro, TX. He attended school in Jacksboro, Vigo Park (TX), and Ardmore (OK). He was married to Rachel Rinestine where they had four children: Belinda, Melinda, Jamie, and Kevin. He later married Laura Skelton where they had one child together, Terry (Bronc), and he helped raise four stepchildren: Sharla, Shawn, Dawn, and Marion. Throughout this time, he worked on various cattle operations in New Mexico and the Texas Panhandle. He is well known throughout the Texas Panhandle for his extreme work ethic and high level of knowledge in running yearling operations. He worked for many famous ranches including the Matador, XL, Fulton, LS, and the Double H. Of his many cowboy accomplishments, he was most proud of his involvement in the final gathering of the Matador herd when the ranch dissolved. He is preceded in death by his parents, R.B. Turner and Margaret Thetford, one sister, Debra Turner Carruth, and one brother, L.B Turner. Surviving Terry are his brothers (Bill Turner of Billings, MT; Bob Turner of Thermopolis, WY; Harvey Turner of Roundup, MT; Hoyt Turner of Casper, WY), sisters (Shirley Holeman of Canyon, TX; Gail Mosley of Amarillo, TX), sons (Kevin Turner of Channing, TX; Shawn Davis of Albuquerque, NM; Marion Turner of Dalhart, TX; Terry Turner of Plattsmouth, NE), daughters (Belinda Pritchett of Channing, TX; Melinda Uselding of Bushland, TX; Jamie Sharp of Nara Visa, NM; Sharla Weathers of Boise, ID; Dawn Martin of Amarillo, TX), 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
