HARTLEY -- William Terry Houston, 57, died Monday evening, July 29, 2013 at his home in Hartley of a massive heart attack.Memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013 at the Boswell High School Auditorium in Fort Worth.A native of Saginaw, Terry was born Dec. 12, 1955 in Fort Worth to William and Virginia Houston. On July 9, 1977, he married his wife, Judy Vess Houston in Brownwood.Terry was a 1974 graduate of Boswell High School. He received his Bachelor of Science in Education and Master of Education from the University of North Texas and began working for the EMS-ISD in 1990. He was a coach at Wayside Middle School and Boswell High School before becoming an assistant principal. He later became principal of Boswell High School. After his time at Boswell, he worked for Central Administration in the Information Systems Department. He resigned in 2012 and became the principal of the K-12 school in Hartley ISD.Mr. Houston will be remembered for his kindness and ability to build relationships, with staff, students, and other co-workers. He is described as one who always took time for others no matter what was going on in his day. His was truly student-focused and cared about student success - both academically as well as personally.Terry is preceded in death by his parents.Survivors include his loving wife, Judy; sons, Robert and wife, Leslie; grandchildren, Blake, Kaylie, and Tyce; son, Shane Kilgore and family.
