Sylvia Ann Williamson, 74 died Wednesday, October 17, 2007 in Dalhart, Texas Services were held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 20, 2007 at Central United Methodist Church. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home Dalhart, Texas. Jerry Moore, pastor - Central United Methodist Church officiated.Survivors include her Husband Ronnie Williamson of Dalhart, Texas 2 sons: Jay and his wife Nita Williamson of Guymon, OK and Jerry Williamson of Tampa, Florida 1 sister Geraldine Carter of Dalhart, Texas 2 grandchildren: Hunter and Hanna Williamson of Guymon, Oklahoma.Preceded in death by her parents- Sil and Florence Jones 1 brother- Sil Jones and a sister Ladene JohnsonSylvia Ann Jones was born April 6, 1933 in Dalhart, Texas to Sil and Florence (Grimmer) Jones. Raised in Dalhart, Sylvias school activities included freshman football queen, cheerleader and, Sub-Debs. She graduated form Dalhart High School in 1951. She served as the first president of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority Theta Nu Sorority in 1954 to 1955. Sylvia worked for REA Electric before marrying Ronnie Williamson on September 8th, 1963 in Dalhart, Texas. After raising her children Sylva went to work for the Dalhart Independent School District, retiring after 33 years of service. A devoted Wife and mother she was a member and past president of the Parent Teachers association and an active member of the Central United Methodist Church. She was past director and treasurer of the Dalhart ex-students association. Sylvia had served as secretary of the Dalhart Bowlers Association, Dalhart Sports Booster Club and enjoyed watching school sports.
