Susan Nickens, 71, died Sunday September 6, 2015 in Dalhart, TX1Memorial Services were held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the Dalhart Sr. Citizens Center under the care of Horizon Funeral Home.Survivors include her husband: George Nickens of Sedan, NM, a daughter: Kelly and her husband Marty Galloway of Dalhart, TX, a son: Casey Nickens of Ft. Worth, TX, a grandson: Payton Galloway of Dalhart, TX , a sister Sally Sockel and her husband Hy of Cleveland, OH, and her donkey Feller of Sedan, NMSusan Franz was born November 8, 1943 in Temple, TX to Edmond and Joanie (Glentworth) Franz. She married George Nickens on August 15, 1969 in Vernon, TX. They lived in Colorado Springs and Cleveland, Ohio before moving to Sedan in 1974. An active member of the community, she helped care for folks when their health failed. Susan loved her donkey Feller, her dogs and enjoyed caring for animals. She also loved to babysit her grandson.
