Sue was born on March 19, 1949 in Fairmont, Minnesota. Her parents were Herb Krumwiede and Kay Nelson. The family moved from Minnesota to Dalhart when she was in 2nd grade. She graduated from Dalhart High School in 1967.
In 1966 while dragging Main Street in Dalhart, she pulled into the Baptist church parking lot and there she met a handsome sailor named Robert (Tim) Skalsky. They fell in love quickly and were married September 9, 1967 in Lubbock. They were married 41 years until Tims passing.
They had four children, Timothy Scott Skalsky, Todd Andrew Skalsky, Adam Joseph Skalsky and Katherine Ruth Skalsky. Tim and Sue raised their children on the farm west of Hartley. Sue was living there until right before she passed. She loved life on the farm and had dreams of what her grandchildren could do on the farm in the future. Her family was the most important thing in life to her and she loved them with everything she had. Sue also loved animals and had a special touch with them. Shes raised canaries, African Grays, rabbits, elk, goats, puppies and other species weve probably forgotten. Sue also loved to read and was an artist. She enjoyed drawing, doing stained glass art and crocheting.
She is survived by her two sisters; Betsy Gaddy of Logan, NM and Darcy Karber of Vega, TX; her children; Scott Skalsky, Todd Skalsky and wife; Brenda, Adam Skalsky and wife; Kelly, Katie Sanders and husband; Matt; nine Grandchildren; Matthew Skalsky and wife; Gladys, Bryce Skalsky and wife; Jessie, Caitlyn Skalsky, Ashley Barrick and husband; Brandon Barrick, Kaleb Skalsky and wife; Daleanna, Ellie Skalsky, Jack Skalsky, Olivia Skalsky, Avery Sanders, and Becket Sanders; and six Great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Robert Skalsky, her parents; Herb Krumwiede and Kay Nelson, one sister; MaryKay Padilla and one daughter-in law, Jamie Evans Skalsky.
