Shirley Skalsky Hailey of Irving, Texas passed away peacefully on August 8, 2012. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Dalhart, TX., with a vigil at 7:00 pm on Monday, August 13th at St. Anthony's. She was born in Dalhart, TX on March 25, 1940. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church in Irving, TX.She was preceded in death by her parents, Ferdy and Ruth Skalsky, and her brother, Robert Skalsky. She is survived by her children, Shane Hailey of Arlington, TX, Sheri Woodson of Westminster, CO, Julie Smith of Irving, TX and Brett Hailey of Dumas,TX. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Justin Hailey, Kristen Woodson, Garrett Smith, Hailey Smith and Brittany Hailey and two great grandchildren, Kyralyn and Bryson. She is also survived by seven siblings. Dorothy Lummus of Pampa, TX, JoAnn Baker of White Deer, TX, Mary Ritchey of Wichita, KS, Ben Skalsky of Lubbock, TX, Linda Culmer of Devils Lake, ND, Mike Skalsky of Pflugerville, TX and Irene Ellis of Sparta, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
