Shelly Rene Summerour, 60, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on July 8, 2024. A memorial service with Pastor Ryan Strebeck officiating will be held at the Central Methodist Church, 517 Rock Island Road, Dalhart, Texas, at 1:30 pm Friday, July 26, 2024. Shelly's service will be streamed on the Church's YouTube Channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCV_NCLTt7DY8t1Fkk0ZjzSg?reload=9. A private burial will be conducted prior to the service at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Summerour family receive friends following the service, beginning at 2:30, at XIT Museum, 108 E. 5th Street, Dalhart.

Shelly was born in Dalhart, Texas on December 10, 1963, to Nell and Edward Berry (Buzz) Summerour. She grew up on the Summerour Ranch with her older sister, Shana, and younger brother, Berry. Shelly graduated from Stratford High School in 1982 and then attended Angelo State University where she majored in Animal Science. Upon graduation, she moved to Dallas where she worked for Business Records Corporation before becoming a People Soft consultant for several large companies. In 2004 she went out on her own, providing consulting services for numerous companies.

Shelly's friends and family will fondly remember her as the life of the party, someone who could always be counted on for a funny story.

Shelly was preceded in death by her sister, Shana and is survived by her parents Buzz and Nell Summerour of Dalhart; her brother, Berry and wife Jennifer of Houston; her niece, Ashlee Glock of Fort Worth; and her cat, Oakley who now lives with Buzz and Nell; as well as several extended family members including members of the Summerour and Pronger families.
