Sharon Davis Nelson, 68, of Tucumcari, NM passed away Monday, February 24, 2020. Memorial service will be held March 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. (MST) at First Assembly of God 524 S. Monroe St., Tucumcari, NM. Sharon was born May 9, 1951, in Tucumcari, NM to Thomas and Frances "Penny" Davis. While Sharon was born in New Mexico, she was primarily raised in Dalhart, TX with her siblings Duffy Davis, Sandra Bridgeman, Susie Davis, all of Amarillo, TX; and Sally Davis of Green Bay WI. After moving to Amarillo and graduating from Amarillo High School, twin sisters Sidonna Latham of Casper, WY and Samantha Woodson of Amarillo, TX were added to the family. Sharon lived most of her life in Amarillo working in the banking and food service industries; however, her greatest contributions were her three much loved sons. Her three surviving sons are Winston Gilmore and wife Brenda of Dalhart, TX; Quanah Gilmore and wife Holly of Houston, TX; and Owen Asher and wife Jennifer of Canyon, TX. After retirement Sharon and her husband Everett "Bud" Nelson returned to Tucumcari where they focused on their church and serving the Lord. With her kind and gracious presence Sharon influenced many lives and made numerous friends along her journey. Sharon is preceded in death by her father Thomas and step-father Dale Mudgett. Other survivors include 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a close sister-in-law, Kathy Davis.
