Shana Summerour Wicall, a former Texas Hereford Queen who was loved dearly by many, died Friday, March 30 of throat cancer. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 3 at Central United Methodist Church. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Shana was born in Dalhart Nov. 15, 1961. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1980, then completed a two-year degree at Bauder Fashion College in Arlington, TX in 1982.Shana -- the oldest of three children -- was a member of the Texas Junior Hereford Association and was the Texas Hereford Queen in 1979. To this day, Shanas family finds a great deal of pride in this accomplishment of hers. Shana and her family were thrilled when Shana crowned her sister Texas Hereford Queen in 1980. Shanas brother also served as the groups president for a year. Shana and her family raised cattle, and she and her two siblings showed Hereford cattle all over Texas. Shana was honored to be at all the major shows to represent the Hereford Industry, performing duties such as handing out trophies. Shana had a warm heart and many friends friends who often made the drive to Shanas familys house in the country in Dalhart. She could be shy, but when she stepped out of the house it was like she was stepping out of Vogue Magazine. Thats one reason Shana was voted most beautiful in high school. Shana was easy to get along with and loved baking and dancing. Shana loved going to concerts and being outside especially at parks. She was fun-loving; always joking and loving life. Shana is survived by her daughter Ashlee Glock, her parents Buzz and Nell Summerour of Dalhart, sister, Shelly Summerour of Dallas, brother Berry and his wife Jennifer Summerour of Houston, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
