Severo Martinez, 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 in LaPorte, Texas Services were held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 21, 2018. Mass did follow Rosary at the St. Anthony's of Paduah Catholic Church in Dalhart, Texas. Interment did follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, Texas. Officiating-Father Lawrence John of St. Anthony's. Severo Martinez was born on February 1, 1923 in near Barney, Union County, NM to Aniceto Martinez and Rosenda Maria (Montoya) Martinez. Severo married Amadita Gonzales on December 20, 1943 in Pasamonte, NM and were married for 74 years at the time of his death. Severo was a Rancher/ Cowboy and a lifelong resident of the Panhandle area. Severo is preceded in death by his parents, his son Narce Martinez in 2010, 3 brothers, Nestor Martinez, Louis Martinez and Ellias F. Martinez, 2 sister, Otelia Archuleta and Grace Garcia. Severo is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Amadita Martinez of Perico, Texas, 2 sons- Cecil Martinez and his wife, Gloria of Beaver, OK and Larry Martinez and his wife, Annette of LaPorte, TX, 5 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren and his 1 brother, Conrad Martinez of Keyes, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
