Sandra "Sandy" K. Miller, 52, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019 in Dalhart, Texas.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Dalhart, Texas, burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, Texas.
Sandy was born September 16, 1966 to Paul and Eleanor (Hansen) Schmahl in Watertown, SD. She graduated from Hamlin High School in 1984 and married Keith Miller in August of 1985 and they were off on a new adventure. They moved to Ft. Hood, TX from January of 86 to August of `87 then on to Germany for three years, back to Watertown, SD for the next three and on to Kearney, NE for seven years and then to Dalhart, TX in 2000.
Sandy was a very involved volunteer and loved community member. She was an active member and Sunday school teacher at Grace Lutheran Church, LWML (Lutheran Womens Ministry League), served on the United Way board for several years, she volunteered her time feeding children at the Lincoln Street Baptist Church Wednesday programs, served with Meals on Wheels, Xi Delta Gamma Sorority for a bit and the Chamber of Commerce. She has worked for Henrys Flowers, CAT, Gaskill, Pharis and Pharis and had her own beautiful shop "The Brick Street Florist".
Sandy was a loving wife to her husband Keith, she raised two wonderful kids, Kelsey and Kevin and was over the moon in love with her amazing grandson Kaysen. Sandy truly loved and cared for people, all people. She lit up a room when she entered it and shared her contagious laughter with all who were within range, Sandy was so very creative and talented, she was kind to all she met and was so loved by all of her family and friends. Sandy is survived by her husband, Keith Miller, her children Kelsey Randall and husband Chanler and Kevin Miller and wife Jade and grandson Kaysen Randall all of Dalhart, Texas. A sister, Debbie Schindler and husband Scott of Dallas, Texas, five brothers: Paul Schmahl and wife Imo of SD, Gary Schmahl and wife Sammye of AK, Brian Schmahl and wife Sharon of SD, Donnie Schmahl and wife Tammy of SD, Norman and wife Anna of SD, sister-in-law Donna Schmahl of SD and many nieces and nephews.
Sandy is preceded by her parents and one brother Adrian Schmahl.
