Sandra Lynn Fuson Delano, 77 of Dalhart, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 4:00pm on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in Texline Cemetery with Clay Lobley officiating. Mrs. Delano will lay in state from 4-8:00pm Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home.
Sandra was born on December 30, 1944 to Lloyd and Frances Fuson in Dalhart, TX. At just 19 years old, on December 27, 1964, she married the love of her life and what ended up being her lifelong partner, Jerry Delano, in Dalhart. In her younger years, she was an avid softball player, bowler, and good athlete in general. Jerry says she wouldve gone pro had he not swept her off her feet. But they shared over 62 years of love, happiness, and companionship. Sandra was not only loved by Jerry but by so many others. She had a heart of gold and blessed others without expecting anything in return. Truly a Woman of God. She liked going to garage sales and was not one to pass up a good deal; a trait that was passed down to her daughter and granddaughter. Because of this hobby, Sandra was a collector. She especially collected M&M memorabilia, glass figurines, all kinds of knick knacks and of course purses. People often described Sandra as a "Sweet and beautiful soul and her children were truly blessed to have her as their mother." Sandra touched many lives, and she will be dearly missed by all. She was a member of Dalhart Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; three sisters; one nephew; two nieces; one great niece and one great grandson.
Sandra is survived by her husband: Jerry of the home; one daughter: Shannon Rene Delano Woody and husband Colt of Wagener, SC; one son: Cliff Delano and B.K Gentry of Dalhart; grandchildren: Summer Peoples and husband John of Dalhart; Jennifer White, Colton Woody and Caitlyn Woody; great grandchildren: Jaedynce Peoples, Christiana Dickson, Avery White and Graycen White; many nieces and nephews; three sister-in- laws and one brother-in-law.
