Samuel Fleming Singleton Sr. - 93 Died on Saturday, December 17, 2005 in Dalhart, TXServices were held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at the First Presbyterian Church in Dalhart, Texas. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, TX under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart, TX Officiating will be Dick Brooks Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Dalhart, TX Survivors include Wife- Babe Singleton, Son Sam Singleton Jr. of Dalhart, TX and Daughter- Sue Ann Singleton of Wasilla, AK Three grandchildren- and Three Great-GrandchildrenSamuel Fleming Singleton was born December 20, 1911 in Lynn County, Texas to Samuel D. and Clora (Keith) Singleton. Sam grew up around O'donnell, TX and graduated from Wink High School in Wink, TX He married Artis Blackwell in Wink on February 9, 1936 they moved to a Ranch near Amarillo before moving to Dalhart in 1953 when they purchased a ranch near Dalhart. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. An active member and past Exalted Ruler of the Dalhart Elks (B.P.O.E. lodge 2390), Mr. Singleton had also served as a Director of the XIT rodeo and Reunion Board, XIT Rangers, Panhandle Regional Planning Committee, Soil Conservation Board. Mr. Singleton was very active in Civic Affairs of the Panhandle. Memorials Elks Children Foundation
