Gus A. Rusty Swanson, 80, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 in Amarillo, TexasServices were held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, Dalhart, Texas.Rusty was born to Archie and Ella (Fuson) Swanson in Dalhart, August 11, 1929. He married the love of his life and high school sweetheart Evelyn Meeks, January 18, 1946. God blessed them with three wonderful boys, Russell, Jack and Casey and 59 years of marriage. Rusty was a true American cowboy his whole life and rode off to be with his beloved Evelyn who left this world on February 13, 2005 and son Russell who left this world August 31, 1973, whom he missed dearly. Rusty left us on March 16, 2010 and we know that he is at Gods table surrounded by his loved ones and friends that made it to heaven before him.Rusty is survived by his son Jack and wife Brenda and their two children Jason and Maggie Swanson all of Denton, Texas, also his son Casey and his wife Becky and their two children Brandi and TJ Swanson all of Amarillo. He has one surviving sister, Eula Fern Lindsey and lots of beloved nieces and nephews he adored.
