Russell Joe Thompson was born March 18th, 1958 to Ann and Joe Thompson in San Banito, Texas. Rusty loved food, speed walking, and humming songs with his sisters. His ornery laugh made his family smile. Rusty was a resident of the D & S Group Home of Amarillo. Thanks to the staff at D you were wonderful caretakers for our brother. Thank you to Gwyn at TPC and all the staff who gave support and love to him throughout the years. Rusty is survived by his three sisters, Becky, Terri, and Juliann, and their families. Graveside Services were held Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Autism Speaks or Special Olympics.
