Ruby Gover, 91 died Monday, October 4, 2004 with her family by her side. Graveside Services were held at 10:00 am Friday, October 8, 2004 in Memorial Park Cemetery .Dean Whaley, Minister of the Dalhart Church of Christ will officiate Ruby Mildred Sturgess was born February 4, 1913 in Olustee, Oklahoma to John W. & Bertha (McNamara) Sturgess. Ruby graduated from Tipton High School, attending Oklahoma University. She married Roy Gover in Tipton, Oklahoma January 9, 1940. They moved to Dalhart from Earth, Texas in 1967. She was member of the Earth Church of Christ. Ruby & Roy lost their daughter Jane in February 1974. They raised their two grandsons Mabe & Monty King. She worked as a bookkeeper for Transmix Concrete for many years. She was an active member of the Dalhart Church of Christ. she enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, and gardening. She loved flowers, and was very well known as a giving person. She thought a lot about children, always cooking cookies for the Childrens Home here in Dalhart.She is survived by 1 daughter Donna (Gover) Whitson of Pittsburg, TX. one son Donald Gover of Beach Bluff, TN & her 2 Grandsons - Mabe & Monty King both of Amarillo, TX. She had 5 more grandchildren & 10 Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 5 Brothers, 2 Sisters, her daughter-Jane in 1974, husband Roy in 1990, Grandson Brandon in 2001
