Ruby Irene Enfield, 93, died Saturday, November 13, 2010 in Dalhart, Texas. Graveside Services were held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, TX. Officiating was Rev. Bob McAlister, Retired Baptist Minister, Dalhart, TexasSurvivors include her Nieces Doris Ann Conrad and her husband Jack , Betty McAlister and her husband Bob all of Dalhart, TX and Peggy Small and Helen Stortz both of California.. Great Nieces Olga McAlister, Debbie Smith and her husband Dave, Becky McAlister, Beth Spencer and her husband Mike and Amy Grantham and her husband Mike as well as Great Nephews: Mark Willis and his wife Barb and Mike Willis and his wife Marcy. Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.Ruby Irene Stewart was born November 2, 1917 at the family farm near Perico, TX to John Simpson Curtis Stewart and Nettie Felicia Purcell Stewart. She grew up on the home-place until moving to Dalhart in 1930 to attend High School. Ruby graduated from Dalhart High School in 1934 and on June 12, 1937 she married Harland Lewis Enfield in Clayton, NM. Ruby worked as a bank teller at First National Bank for many years before going to work at the Citizens Bank. Mr. Enfield died in 1979. Ruby was an active member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School to the 5 yr old class. She loved to work in her yard, sew, paint, and ceramics.
