Ruben Leal, Jr., 49 of Dalhart, passed away on August 22, 2022. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00am on Monday, August 29, 2022 at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Father Lawrence John celebrating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 Monday morning before mass at the church. Ruben will lay in state from noon until 6:00pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Ruben was born on July 30, 1973 to Ruben Leal, Sr. and Hilda Cordova in Dalhart, TX. Ruben graduated Dalhart High School and worked as a tech for Whites Plumbing. He is preceded in death by his baby sister: Ashley Muoz and sister Lisa Swearingen. Ruben is survived by his father: Ruben Leal, Sr. and wife Rosabelle of Dalhart; his mother: Hilda Cordova and partner Billy Gonzalez of Clovis, NM; four children: Ashley Leal, Jonathan Leal, Zeriah Leal and Ashton Stapleton; four brothers: Anthony Leal and Chandra Godinez and their 6 children, Michael Travis Leal and wife Megon and their 9 children, Manuel and Amris Baca and their 4 children, Frank and Kristy Baca and their 3 children; four grandchildren: Anaya and Aura Galindo and Aiswaya and Aellum Alvarez; lots of aunts , uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
