He graduated from Hartley High School in 1949. Mr. Smith worked most of his adult life driving trucks and working on farms and at feedlots. Survivors include a brother Donald Ray Smith of Hartley, TX, a Niece Laura Field and her husband Jon of Amarillo, TX and a Nephew Michael Smith and his wife Toni of Hartley, TX.
