Robert Ritchey, 74, died Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in Amarillo, TexasGraveside Services were held at 3:00 PM, Friday, February 6, 2015 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, Texas.Officiating was Barry Walker, Retired Minister Dalhart, TexasRobert Earl Ritchey was born February 5, 1940, at the family home in Conlen, TX to Harold B. and Harriett (Cleavinger) Ritchey. Robert attended Colony School through Fifth Grade, then attended Stratford, TX schools through Graduation in 1958. He enlisted in the USAF in 1960 and served as a Cryptographic Officer in Lakenheath England until his discharge in 1964.Robert held three memorable positions at local businessesManager at Porters Grocery, Salesman at Thompson Wholesale Hardware and retired after 15 years as the Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Dalhart. His construction and electrical experience was utilized in remodeling many of the City of Dalhart offices and parks.After retirement, he enjoyed spending time at home with his dog Sam. Robert had a lifelong love of the Mountains and Fishing which led to many years of camping with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Sue (Thornton) Ritchey of Dalhart, TX a son John Ritchey of Flagstaff, AZ, a brother Raymond Ritchey and wife Wanda of Dumas, TX, 2 sisters Helen Tabor of Moreno Valley, CA and Lorene Stephens of Mineral Wells, TX Preceded in death by his Parents Harold and Harriett Hattie (Cleavinger) Ritchey, and a brother Carl Harold Ritchey
