Robert E. Bob Payne, 81, died Monday, January 14, 2008 in Dalhart, TexasServices were held at 10:00 AM MST on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Logan Methodist Church with burial in Tucumcari, NM. Under the direction of Dunn Funeral Home, Tucumcari, NM Robert E. Bob Payne was born May 20, 1926 in Nara Visa, NM to Hewitt and Louise (Puder) Payne. He grew up around Gallegos, NM. Attended school in Logan, NM. Bob ranched in the Texas Panhandle and was known far and wide as an expert horseman. Mr. Payne enjoyed team roping and was a field representative for the Cattlemans Livestock Commission for many years. Survivors include his brothers: Jim and his wife Irene Payne of Logan, NM and David and his wife Anna Mae Payne of Clarksville, AR Sisters: Dora Russell and her husband Buzzy of Clayton, NM and Lora Beth Williams and her husband Alan of Logan, NMSons: Bill Cline and his wife Sue of Dumas, TX and Tommy Cline and his wife Pat of Borger, TX 8 grandchildren 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild daughter Numerous Nieces and NephewsPreceded in death by his parents and a brother Charles Payne.
