Robert Clinton Dunlap, 77, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 in Dalhart, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Dalhart Church of the Nazarene with Rick Calvert officiating. Robert was born on Saturday, January 1, 1944 in Dalhart, Texas to Naomi Ruth (Dodd) and Lessie Stanton Dunlap. Robert attended Dalhart schools and went on to serve in the Army. He returned to Dalhart where he worked for Dalhart Processing for many years. His true passion however was horses, he was always around horses in one way or another since he was a young boy and he loved watching them run. He was a member of the XIT Rangers for several years. Robert was married to Betty (Mithcamore) for over 27 years before her passing in 2011. Robert leaves behind four children: Lee Dunlap of Reidsville, GA, Leon Dunlap and wife Maria of Covington, GA, Tonya Dunlap of Amarillo, TX and Rita Dunlap of Jackson, GA, six grandchildren: Kelby Dunlap, Nathaniel Castillo, Sarah Castillo, Donielle Dunlap, Brianna Dunlap and Hank Dunlap, three great grandchildren: Presley, Paxton and Mavrik, three siblings: Rosemary Ruppanner of Dalhart, TX, Roy Lee Dunlap of Amarillo, TX and Ray Dunlap and wife Shanna of Dalhart, TX and several nieces and nephews. Robert is preceded in death by his wife Betty, parents, Lessie and Naomi Dunlap and twin brother Randal Dunlap.
