A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Richard Carl McEnroe was held on Saturday, April 29, 2006, 2:00 pm at the First Christian Church, 602 Denver Ave. in Dalhart, Texas. A reception in the church fellowship hall for family and friends followed the service.Richard Carl McEnroe died April 10, 2006. Graveside services were held Friday, April 14 at 2:00 at West Side District Cemetery in Taft,CA.Born June 16, 1946 in Dalhart, Texas, Carl was an all-district football player at Dalhart High School. He left Texas in 1964 to Continue his football career at Taft College, where he met thelove of his life, Nancy Dykes.Carl enlisted in the Army in 1967, and he and Nancy were married in Chicago in 1968. Carl served his country in Vietnam where he wasawarded the Bronze Star and several distinguished flying medals. He also served as an intelligence specialist on West Germany and at Fort Ord. Upon arriving home, Carl completed bachelor degrees in Animal Husbandry and Biblical Literature. He spent the bulk of his professional career in the cattle business or pastoring local churches. Most recently, he pastored Community ChristianFellowship of Bakersfield. Carl is survived by his wife Nancy, two sons and their wives, Ben & Kami McEnroe and Michael & LeeAnn McEnroe, five granddaughters Kassidy & Kyle McEnroe and Arlen, Jana and Chase McEnroe. He is also survived by hismother, Angelee Rentfro and three sisters, Pat Dye, Mary Shirey and Sarah Cox. He was preceded in death by his brother, John MichaelMcEnroe
