Raymond Valdez, 61 of Dalhart, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 2 o clock in the afternoon on Monday, July 26, 2021 at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Father Lawrence John celebrating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited on Monday at 1 o clock in the afternoon at the church. Mr. Valdez will lie in state from 1-6 o clock in the evening on Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Raymond was born on December 29, 1959 to Joe and Facunda Valdez in Dalhart, TX. He graduated from Dalhart High School in 1979 and received a certificate from Frank Phillips College. Raymond liked listening to music, fishing, and cooking. He also enjoyed watching football and was an avid fan of Americas football team: the Dallas Cowboys. Raymond was a memorabilia collector for the Cowboys as well. He was a man of God and of the Catholic faith. Raymond will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents: Joe and Facunda Valdez; one sister: Rita Valdez; one brother: Victor Valdez; and numerous nieces. Raymond is survived by his four brothers: Joe, Rudy, Billy, and Christopher Valdez; five sisters: Delia Mireles, Cecilia Gomez, Benita Zapata, Margaret Moreno and Barbara Soto.
