Raymond Self, 82 of Dalhart, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 11 o clock in the morning on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Central United Methodist Church with Pastor Josh Stueve officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Self will lie in repose from 10 o clock in the morning until 6 o clock in the evening on Monday, July19, 2021 at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Raymond was born on February 2, 1939 to Millard and Loraine Self in Shamrock, TX. He graduated from Stratford High School in 1957. He then moved to Dalhart and married the lovely, Geraldine Clements, on August 31 of the same year. They went on to share over 63 wonderful years together. Raymond worked as a parts manager for Ford Motor Company and recently retired earlier this year after 64 years of service. He was a member of Lakeview Methodist Church and attended Central United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father: Millard Self; mother: Loraine Adcox; and grandparents. Raymond is survived by his wife: Geraldine of the home; three children: David Self and wife Kellye of Lewisville, TX, Mike Self and wife Tammy of Amarillo, and Brenda Moody of Albuquerque, NM; six grandchildren: Shelby Moody, T. J. Self and wife Mackensie, Michael Self, Leslie Malone and husband Quinten, Taylor DuBois and husband Jerrod, and Mindy Self; two great grandchildren: Zeke and Kason Malone; three siblings: Sherrye King of Flagstaff, AZ, Tommy Foster and wife Dorothy of Arlington, TX and Marlene Wyant and husband Benny of Pampa, TX and many nieces and nephews.
