Raymon Bernice (R.B.) Reynolds was born on February 23, 1928 in Dalhart, Texas. He left this world peacefully to join his Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 24, 2020. R.B. was the eldest of five children born to Raymon and Nellie (Ringo) Reynolds. He was raised on the farm and shared special memories of that time. He lived through the Dust Bowl, during which he recalled having to cover his face with damp cloths to get from the house to the barn to help his dad milk cows. R.B. and his family moved to Gruver, Texas for 3 years and then returned to Dalhart where he lived the remainder of his life. He graduated from Dalhart High School in 1945. He played basketball for the Dalhart Golden Wolves because it was the only sport that did not interfere with his farming duties at home. Following graduation, R.B. enlisted in the Army. After basic training, he was sent to Japan and served with the Occupational Forces. Upon returning home to Dalhart in 1947, he began farming in Hartley County. In June of that year he met the love of his life, Ann Flamm. Their story began when he went into Wanser Drug Store to order a root beer float and Ann, who worked there for her dad, caught his eye. They were married on November 30, 1947 in Clayton, NM and shared 72 loving years together in marriage. R.B. was very involved in farming and community service. He was a long-time member of Dallam-Hartley County Farm Bureau and was on the board of directors. He represented the Texas Farm Bureau by serving on the National Wheat Board. He and Ann traveled to many places representing panhandle farmers. He served 8 years as a Hartley County Commissioner and 12 years on the Hartley County ASC committee. He was named Conservationist of the Year for his farming efforts. R.B. was a member of the Rock Island Masonic Lodge #869, and a member of the XIT Rangers, where he enjoyed traveling to area rodeos. R.B. loved his Lord, his family, his many friends, farming and tending his cattle. Farming was hard work, but R.B. always made time for his family and for fun. He was very involved in his childrens activities, both coaching and as an avid supporter from the stands. He maintained his competitive spirit in local baseball and bowling leagues. He enjoyed playing cards and dominos with friends and family and he passed this love of competition on to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. R.B. was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served many years as an Elder. He and Ann later joined the Central United Methodist Church and thoroughly enjoyed their bible studies and Sunday School class with good friends. This brought much joy to him. He impacted countless lives during his 92 years and will be missed by many. His example of honesty, commitment, and love will forever impact his family. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Ann; son Ray Reynolds and wife Denise of Mt. Pleasant, TX; son Earl Reynolds and wife Debbie of Amarillo, TX; son Jeff Reynolds and wife Carol of Dalhart, TX; daughter Stacey Wilson and husband Kevin of Howe, TX; brother Jim Reynolds and wife Pat of Dalhart, TX and sister Bonnie Cassio and husband Bill of Gig Harbor, WA; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Coon Memorial Hospital, as well as the therapists who gave him encouragement and such special loving care.
