Raye McAdams, 67, died Sunday, November 23, 2014 in Amarillo, TexasCelebration of life services were held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the First Baptist Church with retired minister Bob McAlister. Rita Raye Herring was born April 5, 1947 in Eastland County, TX to Milton and Maudie (Potter) Herring. Raye was a medical business office manager. On November 7, 1998 she married Jim McAdams in Dalhart.Raye will be remembered for her love, strength, and courage. Not only a loving wife she was a wonderful mother to so many more than just her children. She touched so many hearts through the gifts God gave her. She had a strong relationship with God, was active in church by leading womens single group, recovery groups, and so much more. She will be loved and missed by so many. We will celebrate her life by carrying the little things she gave to each one of us, that were instrumental in our lives. Survivors include her husband Jim McAdams of Dalhart, TX, her father M.P. Herring of Snyder, TX, sons: David Keith Cooke and his wife Christie of Sanger, TX, Jeremiah Cooke and his wife Paula Cooke of Cheyenne, WY and John McAdams and his wife Soying of Chaing Mai, Thailand. Daughters: Jennifer and her husband David Longeuecker of Austin, TX, Tamara and her husband Arthur Cruz of Dalhart, TX, & Erin McAdams of Amarillo, TX. Her family also includes adopted sons and families Jason Palmer, Derek Lepke, Richard Gooddell and Lance Latini.Raye is preceded in death by her mother, and a sister Rose Anne Herring.
