Ranny Hank Thompson, 54, died Monday, September 13, 2010 in Amarillo, TXMemorial Services were held at 10 AM, Friday, September 17, 2010 at the Dalhart Church of Christ, Dalhart, Texas.Ranny Thompson was born August 25, 1956, in Colgate, OK to James & Eula (Goss) Thompson. Ranny, twin brother Danny, and older brother Glen Dale, were raised near Hollis, OK. He was a 1974 graduate of Arnett Public School, Harmon county Oklahoma. He served eight years in the United States Navy, receiving a medical discharge in 1983.Hank married Marilyn Ann Putnam of Dumas, TX in San Diego in 1978 son Joshua Ray Thompson, was born September 4th 1978. They divorced in 1983. Ranny arrived in Dalhart October 1984, and was employed by United States Postal Service until medical retirement in January 1996.He married Sherry Lanell Womble, daughter of AJ and Jean Womble, in 1986. Daughter Jena Mae Thompson was born on November 30th 1987. He divorced again in 1991 and remained single until his death. Ranny was a very proud life member of Disabled American Veterans, Texas Chapter #26. He was very proud of his children and five grand children: Celia, Courtney, Matthew, Dakota, and Legend. He is survived by two older brothers, Gene of Sanford, TX and Glen Dale of Arkansas, an older sister, Doris Ann Jones of Atoka, OK, and twin brother, Danny Thompson of Altus, OK, several nephews and nieces, Mr. and Mrs. Kefe Lee Jones of Dumas, Gary Jones of Dumas, and Travis Jones of Amarillo, Darrah of Edmond, OK, Crissa and Randah.
