Peggy Jean Minnick took her journey home on May 15, 2023 at the age of 83 to rest eternally with her Lord Jesus Christ. . Peggy was born January 23, 1940 in Bakersfield, California to Harold and Cecelia Thompson. Raised and living in Kern County, she married James Minnick Sr. in December 1970. As his bride, she moved to the Tejon Ranch, living the life of a cowboys wife. In 1983 the family moved to Dalhart, Texas. She loved and served the Panhandle community in business, church and social activities. She was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church. Peggy is survived by two sons and a daughter; Sean Brady (Patricia) of WA, John Minnick (Jolene) of TX, and Heather Yarbrough of CO; her sisters Patricia Sando and Mary (Jim) Korger both of CA; her brothers Michael (Letitia) Thompson of WA and David Thompson of CA; her grandchildren; Joshua Hoffman (Kristy) of WA, Kelley Lovell (Jeff) of CA, Steven Minnick of TX, Michael Minnick of TX, Kaitlin Minnick of CA, James Minnick IV of CA; her great grandchildren; Jeffrey Hoffman (Lydia), Natalie Hoffman, Codey Hutton (Natalie), and Lane Hutton (Alley) all of WA; and her great, great grandchildren Mckenzie Hoffman, Maddison Hoffman, Hallie Hutton, Carson, Winnie and Willow Hutton all of WA; numerous nieces & nephews, friends and extended family. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband James Sr., her parents Harold and Cecelia Thompson, her brother Thomas Thompson (U. S. Navy), her son James Jr., her grandson James III, her brothers- in-law Leslie Fry and Lowell Sando, her sister Alice Fry and her son-in-law Randy Yarbrough. Peggy's family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the entire staff of Coon Memorial Nursing Home and the DHCHD in Dalhart, Texas, where she lived during the past two and half years. Peggy loved them all and the staff became her extended family, treating her as a family member and loving her in return. A memorial service for Peggy Minnick will be held on Saturday July 8th at 11am at Liberty Baptist Church located at 12020 US Hwy 87 S Dalhart, Texas.
