Pauline T. Valdez, 87, passed away on Saturday morning, May 4, 2019 in Borger, Texas. Funeral mass was held Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery. Pauline "Granny" was born January 26, 1932 in Channing, Texas to Antonio Montoya and Belle "Bargas" Montoya. After moving to Dalhart, she met and married Abraham "Sammy" Doroeto Valdez of Albert, New Mexico on December 23, 1948 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Dalhart. She worked at many places including Coon Memorial Hospital, several doctors offices, many of our churches and Dalhart Independent School District which she retired from. Granny enjoyed long walks, family get togethers, hitting the casinos and loving on any baby she could get her hands on. She could light up a room with her kind spirit and gentle heart. Her smile was priceless. Pauline is survived by: Her brother, James Montoya and wife Loren, her sister, Mary Montoya, a daughter, Marie Dallas and husband Danny, a son, Lawrence Valdez. Grandchildren: Douglas Dallas, Angela Lurz and husband Leland, Anna Emmert and husband Jason, Timothy Dallas and wife Rhianna, Ricky Valdez and wife Wendy, Chris Valdez and wife Maygen, Theresa Valdez and husband Gary. Great-Grandchildren: Jessica Dallas, Desiree Jimenez and husband Daniel, Chloe Klaus, Davian Canales, Logan Lurz, Joshua Dallas and wife Krystal, Emily Dallas and husband Garrason, Courtney Emmert, Amber Emmert and husband Mat, Arron Emmert, Blaine Dallas, Kennedy Dallas, Johnathon Valdez, Mitchell Timms, Alyassa Timms, Kaley Timms, Bailey Valdez, Nathan Valdez, Matthew Valdez, Britny Fitzwilliams, Abcidy Gerber. Great-Great-Grandchildren: Jaylee Dallas and Jaxon Dallas. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband "Sammy" and several siblings.
