Patricia Patty Kay Dyson Hammett, 64, of Dalhart, TX died Sunday, November 14,2010 in Amarillo. Celebration of life services were held at 2:00p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in the First Baptist Church, 1000 E 16th St in Dalhart with Pastor Rodney Weatherly officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Patty was born December 20,1945 in Dalhart, TX to Lester J. and Ruby L (Rainwater) Dyson. She attended school in Dalhart and graduated in 1964. She married Glen PeeWee Hammett on July 16, 1965 in Dalhart. Patty was active member of the We Care Sunday school class and the TEEA Club. She was a HOSTS volunteer for 17yrs., and recently began helping at The ROC. Patty loved working in her garden, crafting, and traveling. She was an avid doll collector as well as Gone with the Wind memorabilia. She sold Avon for a short amount of time, but enjoyed nothing more than being a homemaker, mother, and grandmother.Patty was preceded in death by her mother and father; brother, Bobby Dyson; sister-in-law, Beuff Dyson; niece, Jeri DysonSurvivors include her husband, PeeWee; son, James Douglas Hammett of Amarillo; daughter, Jennifer Louise Hall and husband Brett of Dalhart; brother, Tommy Dyson and wife Brenda of Decatur,TX; granddaughters, Catie and Hillary Hammett of Amarillo; grandson, Steven Hammett and wife Kori of Dalhart; grandson Ethan Hall of Dalhart; granddaughter, Emily Hall of Dalhart; and 4 great grandchildren with another due in December of 2010.
